Pocket PC News: SPb Diary takes on SBSH Pocket Breeze

Spb have released a Today Screen PIM plug-in - Diary -  that directly challenges SBSH Pocket Breeze - the leader in this field.

Spb Diary is described as "a feature-rich Today plug-in for your Calendar, Tasks and Contacts. This software is a powerful replacement for the standard Today plug-ins for appointments and tasks known to have poor functionality. When using Spb Diary the most of actions related to appointments, tasks and contacts can be performed even without leaving the Today screen at all."  Its key features are plug-ins for calendar, tasks and contacts, integration with Pocket Informant and Agenda Fusion, and 31 days of appointments.

Compare this to SBSH Pocket Breeze which includes skins and its special events tab.  The one negative factor about Pocket Breeze is that Contact Breeze is an additional cost.

Both share a number of other features including customisation, filtering, a drop-down calendar, and view notes.  Both are feature rich in their usability.

So what does Diary offer to make it different?  Well, there is time span in the calendar to graphically view days.  But there is nothing that makes it stand out.  Granted, Pocket Breeze is now in its fourth version and Spb Diary is new.

There is no killer feature to the new Spb Diary that knocks Pocket Breeze off its perch. So why change from one to other? Spb Diary needs to differentiate itself from its main competition before it can expect users to desert to them.
